How can difficulties with biofilm formation during the start-up of MBBR MEDIA be resolved?

During start-up, maintain the water temperature at 20–30 °C and keep the pH stable at 7–8. After adding the media, shut off the inlet and outlet water and carry out continuous aeration for 5–8 days. During this period, a small amount of powdered feed (5–10 grams per cubic metre) and aerobic denitrifying bacteria (5 grams per cubic metre) may be added to accelerate start-up. Introduce the media in 2–3 batches to avoid accumulation caused by adding too much at once. Biofilm formation typically takes more than 30 days to become visible to the naked eye.
